This county is bordered by the Chickahominy River to the south, and the Pamunkey River to the north. The eastern portion of the area is influenced by the Williamsburg market.
Interesting trivia: New Kent is the birthplace of two first ladies—Martha Washington and Letitia Christian Tyler.
