Charles City

Charles City is a rural county just east of Richmond. Running along the James River, the county covers 204 square miles and has a population of 7,004. Route 5 winds along the James River and is one of the prettiest drives in Central Virginia. This is an agricultural county and one of oldest in the state and the country (established in 1634).

Interesting trivia: Charles City has no stoplights.
